How to: use the bulk services functionality

As a business, keeping your services updated is crucial for your rankings. The more relevant services you list, the easier it is for customers to find you. However, manually updating every location is a massive bottleneck.

To eliminate the manual grind, use our bulk services and template function. This guide ensures you get the most out of the feature while keeping your workflow as efficient as possible.

1. Creating your Template

Before you start, ensure that at least one location is perfectly optimised with all the services you want to replicate.

1. Navigate to the Locations tab and open your most optimised location

2. Go to the Services tab

3. Click on ‘Apply template’

4. From the dropdown menu select ‘Save as template”

5. Review: Double check the list to ensure no services are missing

6. Name and save your template

GMBapi.com mirrors Google’s logic:  Services are saved in templates divided into categories. Google Services are universal and apply across all categories. Custom Services are category-dependent, meaning they are tied specifically to your Primary or Secondary categories. When you apply a template, the software intelligently bundles these so the universal services are applied everywhere while your custom services stay exactly where they belong. No manual sorting or re-categorising required.

2. Apply Changes in Bulk

Once your template is ready, use the bulk edits tool to push those updates to the rest of your listings instantly.

1. Under the locations tab, select all the locations you wish to update.

2. Click Bulk Edit Locations (or Bulk Actions) and select ‘Services’

3. Choose your categories: The system defaults to “Google Services.” To include others, select specific categories or click ‘All’

4. Click Apply template

Note: Templates are language-sensitive. If you have locations in different regions (e.g., one in London and one in Madrid), a template created in English will not automatically translate. You will need to create a dedicated template for each language you support.
